ABOUT THE BOOK:
“Who do I have to sleep with to get a drink on this plane?”

Beloved by countless fans for being devilishly dishy, outrageously funny, and always giving it to us straight, three-time New York Times bestselling author Bethenny Frankel now makes her fiction debut with the story of Faith Brightstone. Faith is an aspiring actress just out of college, who moves to L.A. determined to have it all—a job on the most popular TV show, a beach house in Malibu, and a gorgeous producer boyfriend. But when reality hits, she finds herself with a gig as a glorified servant, a role that has more to do with T&A than acting, and a dead-end relationship. Finally, Faith decides she’s had enough of La La Land and moves back to New York with just a suitcase and her dog, Muffin.

Five years later, Faith has finally found her groove as an entrepreneur and manages to land a spot on a new reality TV show hosted by her idol—the legendary businesswoman and domestic goddess Sybil Hunter. Diving into the bizarre world of reality TV, Faith’s loud mouth and tell-it-like-it-is style immediately get her in trouble with her fellow contestants—the delusional socialite; the boozy lifestyle coach; the moody headband designer; and her closest friend, the ambitious housewife who eventually betrays her. Even Sybil is not what she appears. As the show comes to a dramatic close, Faith discovers that the man of her dreams may have just walked into her life. Will she choose fame or love? Or can she have it all?

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEW:
SKINNYDIPPING is Bethenny Frankel’s first attempt at fiction and as it goes with this dynamo, it appears to have the makings of success. Like anything Frankel becomes involved in, or so it seems for those of us who are long time fans, Bethenny has played her hand well in SKINNYDIPPING.

Those who don’t follow Bethenny like I do will still find SKINNYDIPPING to be a delightful summer read, beach or not, as it has all the elements we want in that kind of book. It has romance and crazy mad fun, big lights and big cities, as well as major life changes in a young women just starting out trying to find her way in the world. Readers will find much to identify with, as well as enjoy, main character Faith Brightstone.

In Faith, readers will find a strong character to relate to as she grows with each challenge she faces and winds up building self-confidence while handling some self-esteem issues along the way. Quirky and at times inappropriate in some responses, she is always the one who honestly shoots from the hip and makes no excuses. Hmm, wonder who that might sound like? Bethenny doesn’t shy away from some tougher subjects for Faith like things that happened in “Faith’s” childhood. I think SKINNYDIPPING showed Frankel’s wit and strength especially in her narrative. The dialogue alone can show one how and why Bethenny Frankel has been that “skinny girl” who showed them all and made good. And more power to her!

If you have followed Bethenny from way back in her Martha Stewart days, right up to her fabulous life in Manhattan with Jason and baby Bryn in “Bethenny Everyafter”, you will find it hard to not recognize some real people characterized in the story. I cheered as Bethenny wrote fictional folks who were pretty close to some real people she has dealt with in her life. Through fiction, Bethenny has been able to have her say to those who did not support her as she has made her way to the top, leaving most of them far behind! Bethenny Frankel’s SKINNYDIPPING shows yet another side to this amazingly creative and brave entrepreneur, and doubt many can argue with it.
