GIVEAWAY ENDED
ZOO
ZOO
BY JAMES PATTERSON
AND MICHAEL LEDWIDGE
ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOK:
Once in a lifetime, a writer puts it all together. This is James Patterson's best work ever.
Total...For 36 years, James Patterson has written unputdownable, pulse-racing novels. Now, he has written a book that surpasses all of them. ZOO is the thriller he was born to write.
World...
All over the world, brutal attacks are crippling entire cities. Jackson Oz, a young biologist, watches the escalating events with an increasing sense of dread. When he witnesses a coordinated lion ambush in Africa, the enormity of the violence to come becomes terrifyingly clear.
Destruction...
With the help of ecologist Chloe Tousignant, Oz races to warn world leaders before it's too late. The attacks are growing in ferocity, cunning, and planning, and soon there will be no place left for humans to hide. With wildly inventive imagination and white-knuckle suspense that rivals Stephen King at his very best, James Patterson's ZOO is an epic, non-stop thrill-ride from "One of the best of the best." (TIME)

OTHER BOOKS BY PATTERSON AND LEDWIDGE:
MY REVIEW/THOUGHTS:
As a huge fan of James Patterson, good or bad, I read just about all his books. I have particularly enjoyed his collaborations with Michael Ledwidge. However, I don’t think I was in any way prepared for ZOO. This is a very different book for Patterson, in my opinion. Yes, it keeps you turning pages, or in my case, listening to the audio book, and has the twists and turns the author is known for but this one comes at you from a very different place. It was also difficult to read at times because of the involvement of the animals.
On the premise that animals are gathering in herds and attacking people all over the world, one obviously has to think twice. However, the exceptional development of the main character, Jackson Oz, allows readers to go along with the story. Oz is a biologist who has a theory about the research in which he has found animals attacking humans, including domestic animals. Most think Oz is just an impulsive scientist running around alarming people with a half-baked idea of his. However, when Oz heads to Africa to check out some of the reports, he is able to get more substantial and visual confirmation. Along with the love interest of Chloe, a bird expert, Jackson Oz heads to Washington where he is beginning to be taken seriously. As the action builds and the animals become more dangerous, I found myself interested in what would happen but also feeling sorry for the animals. I had to remind myself it was fiction and just go along for the ride. I did find the ending frustrating as it didn’t quite wrap things up and now I have to hope there will be another installment to let us know how things end. Is there a series in the making? Could be!
